Journalkeepers Publishing presents:
Good Grief For Kids is a book designed to help children, and their families, work through their grief in meaningful ways. Let's face it, most of us are uncomfortable talking about death especially to a child. As adults, especially as parents, we want to protect our children from all of life's painful experiences. As much as we want to protect our children from experiencing loss, we simply cannot because death and disease are part of those real-life experiences that will inevitably touch our family and our children in some way.
Good Grief For Kids
A grieving workbook for children ages six to twelve
This book was designed to teach children the basic concepts of death and to help them grieve and grow in healthy ways. As children work through their loss, they will learn more about themselves and about life. The activities in this workbook will act as a springboard for conversations which will help clarify misconceptions and fears.
We do not have to be trained experts to help a grieving child learn to cope. Our love and reassurance will go far. Good Grief For Kids is designed to provide parents, educators and counselors a thoughtful, organized, easy-to-use and caring approach using the art process to help children cope with their loss.
Keeping the Good Grief For Kids workbook serves as a lasting memory of a friend or loved one who has died.
Good Grief For Kids is one book in a series of workbooks designed to provide parents, educators and counselors an organized easy-to-use approach to helping children ages six to twelve cope with their feelings during difficult times. Designed to be used individually between adult/child or in small groups, these workbooks provide writing prompts that help children identify and accept their feelings. The workbooks create a opportunity for children to work out their emotions while the coping skills for loss and change are being developed. Each journal is as unique and personal as the child creating it. The series evolved out of the author's search for resource material for her own children and students.
